Lemon is the best-selling fruit in beauty on TikTok Shop. Beauty products mentioning lemon generated $20.9 million in U.S. TikTok Shop revenue from August 2025 to July 2026, ahead of orange ($16.1 million) and strawberry ($13.0 million). Banana, despite heavy media coverage, generated $1.5 million, though its monthly sales grew 269% from January to June 2026.
Key Takeaways
Fruit is one of the biggest beauty trends of 2026, but the fruits getting the most headlines are not always the ones driving the most revenue. Throughout summer 2026, outlets including Vogue, ELLE, Marie Claire, and WWD covered everything from fruit nails to banana-scented skincare, turning fruit into one of the most talked-about themes of the season.
The coverage paints a vivid picture. Vogue highlighted bold manicures featuring designs like beaded watermelons, ELLE spotlighted Simone Ashley's butter-yellow lemon manicure, and Marie Claire UK credited Rhode with sparking a banana wave that Prada, Glossier, and Briogeo have since joined.
WWD framed banana as the single fruit fixation stretching across skin care, fragrance, hair, and body, while Prestige Online noted the fruit turning up in perfumes, hair oils, and eye patches. The pairing of banana and skin care has quickly become one of the season's most visible beauty stories.
Media attention is a useful signal, but it is not the same as consumer spending. For brands deciding what to stock, promote, or build content around, the more important question is which fruits are actually converting into sales. To answer it, the Charm team analyzed U.S. TikTok Shop beauty revenue tied to 13 fruit keywords over the last 12 months, then tracked how the leading and emerging fruits performed month by month in 2026.
Lemon is the most lucrative fruit in beauty on TikTok Shop, generating $20.9 million in U.S. sales between August 2025 and July 2026. Charm measured revenue from beauty products that mention each fruit in their name, and lemon finished well ahead of the field, outselling second-place orange by nearly $5 million.
Orange ($16.1 million) and strawberry ($13.0 million) complete the top three, with peach close behind at $12.9 million. Together, these four fruits account for nearly two-thirds of all revenue across the 13 fruits Charm tracked.
Their strength makes sense: citrus and berry notes have long been staples in lip care, body care, and fragrance, so shoppers already know what to expect from them. Lemon's lead in particular reflects how closely consumers already connect lemon and skin care, from brightening serums to citrus-scented cleansers and body products.
A strong middle tier follows. Cherry generated $9.5 million, while pineapple and grapefruit each landed between $5 million and $6.5 million. Watermelon, a recurring motif in this summer's nail art coverage, brought in $4.1 million.
The biggest gap between attention and revenue belongs to bananas. Despite being the fruit most associated with summer 2026 in the press, banana ranked 11th of 13 with $1.5 million in sales, meaning lemon outsold it by roughly 14 to 1. Only lychee and blueberry generated less.
To keep the analysis accurate, Charm removed keywords that do not refer to the fruit itself. That included the brand name Peach Slices and terms such as "peach fuzz" and "strawberry legs," which describe hair and skin concerns rather than fruit-inspired products.
Lemon is not just the largest fruit in beauty on TikTok Shop, it is still accelerating. Monthly revenue from lemon beauty products rose from roughly $1.4 million in January 2026 to $2.3 million in July 2026, with the sharpest jump arriving between June and July.
The other top performers tell a steadier story. Orange hovered near $1 million per month for most of the year before climbing above $1.2 million in July. Pineapple more than doubled, rising from about $300,000 in January to roughly $800,000 by May and holding near that level through the summer.
The banana beauty trend looks very different through a revenue lens than through headlines. Banana sales spiked in March, dipped in May, and then climbed sharply through June and July, finishing near $280,000 for the month. Overall, monthly banana sales grew 269% from January to June 2026. Blueberry also accelerated late, approaching $170,000 in July, while lychee grew more gradually.
In other words, the media is not wrong about bananas. Its momentum is real, but it starts from a much smaller base than lemon, orange, or pineapple. For beauty brands, that distinction matters: banana looks like an emerging opportunity worth testing, while lemon is a proven, growing category worth investing in.
The smartest brands treat media coverage as a starting point and sales data as the deciding factor. Headlines can show what is getting noticed, but revenue shows what shoppers are actually buying. Here is how brands can put that into practice:
Monitoring TikTok Shop beauty sales at the keyword level lets brands see which trends are converting, which are fading, and which are just getting started.
Fruit's role in beauty is likely to keep evolving, but the current data points to two clear stories. Lemon remains the revenue leader and continues to grow, while banana is the breakout to watch as it climbs from a small base. Brands that track both scale and momentum will be better positioned to decide where to invest and where to experiment.
Charm tracks how social commerce trends rise and fall in terms of both revenue and views, so beauty brands can make assortment, promotion, and content decisions backed by real sales data. Book a call with Charm to see which trends are driving revenue in your category.
