K-Beauty anti-aging ingredient polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) and patented skin plumping extract Volufiline are among the hottest beauty trends on US TikTok Shop, according to a report by ecommerce brand discovery and analysis platform company, Charm.io.

For the period of May 2025 through April 2026, beauty product video views associated with #pdrn or #PDRN increased from about 20m to more than 460m and the ingredient was mentioned in 80,000 shoppable videos, the firm stated in its report, “Formulating for Virality: What TikTok Shop Sales Data Reveals About Winning Ingredients, Products & Trends.”

Charm.io’s platform tracks daily TikTok Shop sales data across every category, shop, product, hashtag, video, and creator, while also tracking key performance metrics such as web traffic, demographics and growth across millions of direct-to-consumer brands, according to the New York-based firm.

PDRN, which is largely derived from salmon, is often combined with exosomes, which are tiny vesicles that are promoted as delivering nutrients and active ingredients into skin. Products with the two ingredients aim to provide intensive skin regeneration and repair by stimulating collagen and elastin production while improving skin texture, fading dark spots and increasing skin radiance.

PDRN is one of the ingredients shaping the latest iteration of K-Beauty in the US, coined “K-Beauty 3.0,” defined by technology-driven skin care, rather than the playful products that have characterized the segment until now.

From May 2025 through April 2026, the most viewed video on TikTok Shop mentioning #PDRN is from influencer @thestephedition, who garnered 21.4m views. She encouraged viewers to apply the ingredient along with Volufiline.

The second most viewed video for PDRN is from influencer @mirandacorneliusbeauty, which generated 12.9m views. In that video, the influencer discusses a product that has PDRN and niacinamide, saying “it’s going to brighten and even any discoloration under eyes.”

Third place for #PDRN views is @brooklynreviewsxoxo, who attracted 11m views during the one-year period. She states the ingredient “is so good for anti-aging, getting rid of discoloration on your skin and all around revitalizing.”

Charm.io identified the top five PDRN products, most in bundles, sold on TikTok Shop from May 2025-April 2026, with sales:

     • Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Volume Multi Balm; $5.9m

     • Medicube Miranda’s Barrier Support Set; $4.6m

     • ANUA Viral Ultimate Glass Skin Bundle; $3.2m

     • Medicube Rosemary PDRN Scalp-to-Hair Set; $2m

     • Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask; $1m

Four Brands Account For 96% Of Volufiline Sales On US TikTok Shop

Volufiline, a patented, plant-based cosmetic ingredient derived from the roots of Anemarrhena asphodeloides – also known as Zhi Mu – is gaining attention as a K-Beauty ingredient delivering topical, non-invasive plumping effects.

The substance was developed by French company Sederma, which was acquired by Croda International Group in 1997. It is often associated with K-Beauty because of its widespread use in Korean formulas.

For the time period measured in the report, beauty product video views with #Volufiline garnered 226m views, compared to almost zero when the observation period began.

Four brands with 11 products in total account for 96% of Volufiline total sales on US TikTok Shop, which amounts to $11.8m. These brands comprise: medicube ($6.1m), Sungboon Editor ($2.2m), The Ordinary ($1.5m) and VT Cosmetics ($1.4m). Other small brands make up about $488,000 in sales on the platform.

Charm.io also evaluated the power of skin care benefits included in the product name.

In analyzing the top 1,000 beauty products sold on US TikTok Shop during the year-long period, Charm.io found that claims/benefits of the products were mentioned in the names of 497 products overall, with “glow,” “hydrating,” and “smoothing” in the name or descriptions of products with higher sales (see chart).

US TikTok Shop Sales Expected To Reach $4.9Bn This Year

The Charm.io report also underscored the explosive growth of US TikTok Shop in the past several years and its power as a search engine for beauty.

The platform’s beauty sales have grown from $263.4m in 2023 to $2.7bn in 2025, and sales are expected to reach $4.9bn in 2026.

“TikTok’s halo effect powers product discovery and drives conversions across brick-and-mortar, DTC, Amazon and beyond,” Charm.io says.

Beauty video views on TikTok Shop grew from 6bn in 2023 to 138bn in 2025 and are expected to jump to 527bn views in 2026.

The platform’s success is also spilling over into brick-and-mortar stores, Charm.io found. “Brands winning on TikTok understand the platform is both a direct purchase channel [and] top-of-funnel awareness driver,” the report states.

Once a product’s sales spike on TikTok Shop, brick-and-mortar retailers selling the product can expect to see a median retail dollar increase of about 46% starting about three months later, the firm claims.

A report released last year by retail brand experience agency ChangeUp, Inc. revealed TikTok Shop’s dominance over other ecommerce and brick-and-mortar channels. The report noted the platform is more popular for beauty than Sephora and Shein among US consumers, with 70% of Generation Z and Millennials purchasing beauty products directly through TikTok and influencer links. That report also found that by 2030, TikTok Shop’s market share for the total US beauty market is expected to grow from 1% to 3%, according to digital retail publication, RetailDive.

The US TikTok Shop platform is also the fastest-growing retailer for fragrance, on the road to achieving annual sales of $500m, propelled by a “youth pipeline” and facing a “wide-open runway for growth with Gen Alpha kids born after 2010,” according to OnScent, a fragrance innovator that provides intelligence and analytics on the fragrance market.
